Older People’s Champion

SOPA is working jointly with Age Scotland to encourage every local authority in Scotland to appoint a Councillor as an Older People’s Champion (OPC).

We believe this is one route through which the views, needs and aspirations of older people can be reflected at local level in Scotland.

An OPC is an important ambassadorial role for an elected Councillor to provide a direct link between the Council and older people living in their communities.
